Day 21 - Yard Work

Who is grateful for yard work?!? Apparently, I am ! I love to work in the dirt, pull weeds, plant things - I find it therapeutic and relaxing. For some it is a chore. Don't get me wrong - with the size yard I have, it is a chore. But it is a chore I can take in doses. It would take HOURS to mow, edge, weed, trim. That is why I do a little everyday. Free therapy. Gorgeous results.

Day 20 - Future vacations

I am going to Italy in 2011. Why? Why not? Sounds like a place everyone needs to travel to, right? I plan to EAT a lot of GREAT FOOD while I am there. I love pasta, I love cheese, I love bread - I am pretty sure that is what they serve in Italy. Could my future trip be prompted by the book Eat, Love, Pray (movie coming out August 13 starring Julia Roberts. 4 month mark. I am going opening night if anyone wants to join me). Yep! Sounds like something I would do...

So tonight, in order to satisfy my craving for my future trip, we went for gelatos. Where? Smith's Marketplace of course! I ordered the most ITALIAN-named gelato, but it really ended up tasting like a sorbet. Gelati is a rich ice cream, made with eggs and usually containing a relatively low percentage of butterfat (dictionary.com taught me that!). I will have to learn a lot more Italian words before my trip! Should I take an evening class to learn Italian? YES!

Day 19 - Sisters or Friends?!?

Someone at church in Vernal ran up and said "Oh, your sister came to visit!" Do we look like sisters or friends?!?

I am grateful for a sweet friend who took us in with a few hours notice, fed us (thank you Joe for the SICK guacamole swiss burger! SICK = good!), housed us, played with us and loved us. We love you!

Day 18 - Road Trip!

Jack obviously loves road trips!

Maddie has the weirdest sleep positions.

Halle & Dallin act shy being this close to each other.

Maddie asked if I would buy one of these for her birthday.
Jack really did have fun after a few minutes.

Fugal kids

Fugal & Pepper kids

Early Saturday morning, I texted my friend who lives in Vernal and asked how she would feel about a few house guests this weekend. Not to be totally tacky, she had invited us previously. It was a mad dash to pack the 3 kids and jump in the car for a 3 hour drive. Here we come! We had the best time this weekend, exactly what the DR. PEPPER ordered! Thank you Peppers for being the perfect hosts. It was so nice to have a little get-a-way. I am grateful for road trips, and awesome friends when the road ends!

Day 17 - Not talking at all

Do you have a friend that knows you so well, you hardly have to talk? She already knows what you are thinking? It is like our minds are connected. I have a friend like that.

I was taking my kids swimming today, she was taking her kids swimming. I was thinking pizza for dinner, she was thinking pizza for dinner. I am feeling sadness, she is feeling sadness. We can just sit next to each other, and we don't HAVE to talk. But we do. She is a good listener, even when I am not talking at all. Thank you Alisa!

Day 16 - Running

I love to run. I haven't always loved to run. But right now, it is a physical release of stress and I need that release in my life, everyday if I can. Even twice a day, if I can justify it. I love to feel my body move. I love to feel the my feet pound on the road. I love to feel my knees bend. I love to feel my muscles flex. I love to breathe deeply. I even love to sweat! Thank you, body, for allowing me to run.

Day 15 - Cupcakes

About 8 years ago on a vacation in NYC, I had an amazing cupcake at the Magnolia Bakery. Since then, I have ADORED cupcakes. I love to eat them, bake them, and take pictures of them. Luckily, we have a cute little bakery in Lehi called Dippedee. I love their red velvet cupcakes. Today, I am grateful for yummy cupcakes!
